Langstroth Bee Hive: In modern American beekeeping, a Langstroth hive is a vertically modular beehive characterized by features like vertically hung frames, a bottom board with a bee entrance, boxes for brood and honey, and an inner cover with a top cap for weather protection.
The Langstroth hive includes a super box, queen excluder, and a brood box. All frames are coated with natural wax sourced from honeycombs.
This beehive uses a multi-layered structure with removable frames to guide bees in building their hives in an orderly manner. This design simplifies honey harvesting and management by separating honeycombs, making it easier for beekeepers to handle bees and collect honey efficiently.
Our Langstroth beehives are entirely Kenyan-made using local materials and are equipped with 100% beeswax comb starters and comb strips produced locally. This ensures quick colonization and prevents the spread of foreign diseases from imported beeswax.
